A prominent feature of this sanctuary is a large lake that has been created with the damming of the river, lying between Gautam Budh Nagar in the east and Okhla village in the west. In 1990, this place has been designated by the U.P. government as a sanctuary and currently among the 466 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in the country. This garden was established in 2002 and is home to numerous primitive plants. An exotic one is known as ‘Psilotum Nudum’ which in Latin word means ‘bare naked’.
